Mitra means friend.

Manish and Pushpak meet in high school and become best friends, laying the seeds for Mitra. Original Mitra investments were in Blimpie, Fina Gas Station, and retail check cashing.

Chalak means wise.

Ron, Nik, and Al lay the foundation of Chalak, with an investment in a pool hall and game rooms during college

The Chalak team signs a franchise agreement for Genghis Grill and opens first store.

Mitra team and Dr. Sanjay Patel become original investors when the Chalak team buys the brand to become franchisor of Genghis Grill.

Mitra teams gets approval from Yum Brands to be a franchisee and opens first store in Anna, TX. Chalak team become investors in Mitra.

Both Chalak and Mitra team up to acquire 30+ units of KFC/Taco Bell in the Midwest. First hotel investment is made in Dallas.

Chalak Mitra Group becomes a dream realized, later to be named CMG Companies. Growth continues!
